Guess what I found

I was going through my tax papers getting rid of 2002 and I came across statements to all these accounts that are coming up as CO's. I OC is showing an account Co in 2002 well, funny thing is I also found ALL my reciepts for that year made on that account. YES EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM PROVING THE ACCOUNT WAS NOT CHARGED OFF IN 02 AND IT WAS PAID!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God for my little business keeping my tax records WOOT WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE it when I get confirmation that being a pack rat is a GOOD thing!  Good for you!

I haven't needed any of my old records yet, but I still hang onto stuff for much longer than the average person does.  It is a little more challenging now considering that I used to write a check for everything and had only one "source" to confirm with.

Now ... it could be online bill pay from my checking account, personal paper check, EFTs originating with the OC or pushed from a bank account, or paid with one of several CCs.  But I do always mark the bills with the date, amount, payment method, and check numbers or transaction numbers so I can go back if I have to.

I just wish I could convince all of my kids that thinking ahead about maintaining proof of payments made might really come in handy some day. They might even develop the habit of printing the statements that they receive electronically so they have something to write on ... to document the payments ...  for future reference.

I've got TRs from 1994. You think that I can shred those now? Smiley Tongue

Re: Guess what I found

NOPE - rather be able to make someone look like a fool than me be the fool for getting rid of anything.
