HELP! AU acct added in error! Lowered score!

OMG I can not even BELIEVE this!  We are SOOOOOOO CLOSE!  My middle mortgage score is 634 (need 640) and where the hell this AU account came from I have NO IDEA!  I NEED this deleted!  It is a Barclays Bank card.  I found the contact info for the office of the president and got my name removed from the account (87% utilization) but it is still going to remain on my report until the account statement date which is the 24th of this month!  I have tried everything I know to get it removed!  They overnighted me a letter stating I have been removed from the account, but Equifax (the only report that is showing this account) is saying they will not remove it unless the bank sends the information electronically.  The bank is saying the only way I MIGHT be able to get rid of it before the statement date is to WRITE their credit reporting department!  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????  I do not even know who 's account this is........why in the world someone would add me to their account as an authorized user I have NO IDEA, BUT IT IS KILLING MY CHANCES AT A MORTGAGE!  HELP!  I did dispute it with Equifax, but who knows how long that will take.  I did attach the letter provided to me by the bank when I did the online dispute with equifax and I also faxed it in the hopes that they would remove it.  Any advice??

The 24th is 2 weeks away. That's right around the corner. Since you are not closing on a home but only applying for a mortgage, why are you getting yourself riled up or am I missing something? What was your scores before this AU account was added?

Well that was not helpful AT ALL! We have until August 1st to move out if our rental and I am hoping to get a home under contract so I can ask our landlord to allow us to stay until we close. Thanks for not helpingy situation at all.

Sounds like you've done everything you can except writing the credit department at Barclays, as suggested by the EO. You can either wait for your dispute results or write that department.

At least the off topic posts are bumping the tread so someone who may be able to help might actually see it...be happy for the exposure.
I have to agree with medicgrrl. The process to dispute an acct is not a fast one, I think all you can really do is what they suggest and hope for the best.
