HELP !!Ask for SETTLEMENT for a PFD, Does this sound right?

just recieved a letter back in regards to my settlement letter for a PFD after i asked for validation the CA mails me this

"You recently requested information to validate the account assigned to this office for collection. In responce to your request, we have listed the creditor and amount below.

 Balance : $1186.64

Account number : 11205xxx

                                             Settlement Request Response

On behalf of : Bay Area Credit Service/AMR

BACS # 11205XXX

Trip # 4500xxxxxxxxx

Settlement Amount: $500.00

We request that the payment be issued within 45 day days from reciept of this correspondence

Does that sound like a PFD?

NOPE.  did they answer the DV letter??  A PFD letter MUST say that they WILL delete and must be on letterhead and signed.

Well on DV Letter they just said that the OC verified the debt was mine , so then i sent the Settlement PFD Letter but it she did not say it would be deleted from CRA's

So you have to write them back and expressly ask that if you pay the settlement it will be "paid as agreed w/ no more balance owed" AND will be PFD. They just sent you a settlement letter.

You want a PFD letter NOT settlement. They must accept $500 and inturn they will delete all information retaining to this account.

Paid is not good enough....it will stay on CR....PFD must be worded just right (from them).They must delete it from CR!!!!!

Another thing, The letter that you posted looks like that is all that thay gave you for validation. They did not say if they OWN this account.

Do you know what it is for and from when?

that absolutly does not look like a pfd. they are trying to trick you. be careful!

not only isn't it a PFD  but I wouldn't accept it as validation either.
