I had my car repossed. They came to my house to pick it up and we nicely turned it over. A few weeks went by and my mom called and said there was a certified letter for me to pick up. Needless to say I never made it. I live and work almost an hour away from the post office. A few more weeks went by and I recieved a letter in the mail stating that I was informed that I could get my car before it was auctioned. Since I did not they sold it and i owe the balance. Can I dispute the debt do to the fact that I never picked up the certified mail which as obviously the letter giving me a chance? if so what sort of letter format should I use?
