HELP on removing a third party collection account?

I recently took a hit from a stubborn collection agency. I offered a pay for delete approach and was DENIED (how does that even make sense from a business perspective??)

Although I found out that the collection agency had been temporarily assigned for 6 months. Is it possible that I wait them out for the six months until their collection authority is revoked by the creditor who truly owns the debt, pay them directly (before it's outsourced again) and have the third party remove the blemish that's left on my credit score?

Yes, that is a standard tactic.

Welcome to the board Smiley Happy

Sure you can wait for them to recall the collector and then pay off the OC before they send it off to another collector. The CA has to remove their TL once they send it back to the OC per CRA rules.

Thank you so much guys. I was really hoping that this approach would work. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
