My oldest DD just had RentGrow do an EX HP this week as well for an apartment she will be renting this Summer. Her profile is very similar to yours but with student loans. It is her third HP on EX in the past 8 months (1 from AMEX last Summer, 1 from Chase in Jan, and now this rental agency).
Experian does not show her FICO 8 dropping at all! I'm not sure how it affected the auto or mortgage scores, though.
The previous HP's for the credit cards dropped her EX 8 by 5-7 points each, but this HP had no effect. You should be fine, and if I remember correctly, the HP damage didn't last too long from the CC apps and recovery seemed to start returning in 3 months.
Dont forget that the reason for the HP usually has description for the HP on your reports when pulled.. I believe a while back when I got my apartment its listed as housing or something of that nature
Hi OP. Getting an HP for an apartment rental is fairly common. I have one on my TU from when I moved in 2018 and should fall off this summer. It shows up as "Real ID," so it's obvious that it's for a credit check and not a credit card or other application. This should not affect your application for a car loan or CC in any way!
