HSBC- Natural disaster statement??

HSBC has updated and included this message:

Creditor's Statement:
Affected by natural or declared disaster.

I was not late, nor carrying a balance, thank goodness. Is this normal? I see on their website they are offering help to those affected by the recent hurricanes, but do they need to post this on my credit report? Nobody else did.

Re: HSBC- Natural disaster statement??

I see lots of these in Iowa this year - Amex sent me one, car insurance, some others
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: HSBC- Natural disaster statement??

Mine too, and honestly Im a little HOT about it. Under manual review I would see this as a trouble spot not in the applicants favor. I called them to have it removed, and ask for a cli since 1 year birthday on the card. declined btw.... 1 year perfect paymen history. They are a hair away from entering the shredder and then stuffed into an envelope.

If these are your scores "8/11/08 TU 674 EQ 683 EX 683" HSBC does not deserve your business.

Never saw that before. What does it mean?

Re: HSBC- Natural disaster statement??

It doesn't mean you did anything wrong. It doesn't affect you in a bad way. It is just a statement that you lived in an area that was affected by a natural disaster such as a flood, plains fire or hurricane.
