I have a freeze on all three major credit reports. Today, October 3, 2022, "TUCI ARRAY" still managed to do a hard pull on my credit report (it's not on my wife's TransUnion right now). The 844 number listed says TransUnion Interactive, which implies that it was a miscoded soft inquiry.
I'm still dealing with Experian refusing to remove over $1700 in illegal billing. I'm not saying all dentists and their collection agencies are cooked, but... TransUnion and equifax looked at the law I quoted, asked for the paperwork, they couldn't provide it (because it doesn't exist because they're trying to bill me for the insurance write-off) and they removed it... but not experian.
I know inquiries can be different than accounts, but I am hoping that the last experience is repeated and this isn't too much stress.
Array is a suite of software tools that provides various functions related to credit reports, both to pull and push information, and I'm going to guess that TUCI is the business unit within Transunion responsible for providing the hooks to authorized 3rd parties to access TU data using Array tools. This sounds like either a a Transunion or Array screwup where what should have been a soft pull was instead coded as an inquiry.
You can either dispute the inquiry with Transunion, file an online complaint with the CFPB against Transunion, or both, on the basis that since you did not apply for credit there was no permissible pupose for an inquiry, with adequate resolution being that the inquiry is withdrawn. If TU comes back and points fingers at Array you can if needed start filing another complaint.
I found the same hard pull from TUCI ARRAY on my report as well from Oct 3. I called the number provided which told me it was Transunion and to call another number. When I called that number, the recording states it is Transunion again. It then prompts me to enter my zip code and then full SSN. I'm not about to do that. There seems to be no way to get a person on the line. This whole thing seems very suspicious to me. I noticed on Reddit that several people had posted about the same inquiry on the same date.
I don't understand how this is a "system issue" that they can't estimate how long it will take to fix when reddit is reporting it happening before (I did more digging and called TransUnion around 3pm EDT). They act like it doesn't adversely impact your report and scores. Yeah one inquiry was only 4 points or something on my vantage and I don't know if I have me TU FICO, but if we have to trust private corporations to aggrigate out financial data, the least we can do is get timelines for fixing the errors when we report them.
I can't just dispute this online because they don't let you dispute hard pulls. Also, doing by mail, I'm not buying a whole book of stamps (I don't have any). If anyone has a fax number, please share.
WHAT!?! These idiots are recording hard pulls while reports are frozen?!?! Unbelievable. And once again the burden (not to mention the timesuck) is in our corner. Please update on this as you get it resolved.
I have a security freeze on all 3 and was hit as well which dropped my score 4 points. I told transunion via the my tru identity platform but also told the CFPB. This is going against our consumer rights. Noone should have been effected but especially not those with a security freeze. Unreal.
I did a chat in my Transunion account and the CSR told me this:
"I'll be more than glad to assist you today! TransUnion experienced a short-term processing error on October 3, 2022, which may have resulted in a hard credit inquiry, rather than a soft credit inquiry, being posted to your credit report. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. The inquiry will be automatically removed from your report."

Isn't the burdeon amd timesuck always on us?
We should get monitarily compensated to proving they put something false on out report. I guesss then they'd go bankrupt since 1/3 of reports are estimated to have errors.
I have a collection account that I do not owe on my Epxerian (they "conforimed it by askeding the collection agency ifit should be there and never reay me evidence), TU did this despite the freeze, qquifax had the data breach (backed out of the checks too)... Yep, great system.

Did they tell you when it will be "Automaticallly removed"?
@FalconSteve I agree wholeheartedly and we should all get so lucky that these morons are held accountable at all. Unreal.
