Hard pull from Synchrony Bank that I did not authorize?

It could be ID theft.  They should be able to tell you why it was done.  I know that they like to peek at your CR a lot so it could have been reported incorrectly or done on the wrong person.

With a little research, I found an affiliation with Paypal, because I applied for a PayPal account and the hard inquiry was from Synchrony Bank. Hope this helps.

Opening a paypal account shouldn't give a hard inquiry.. Are you sure you didn't apply for the Extras card?

I think, paypal had a feature of a credit line (not a credit card) and if requesting this, there would be a HP (anyway, it might not be from Synchrony). This is weird because the credit line does not show up in the credit reports. Anyway, I am not sure and it is better to check it.

it depends if you were approved for a credit card, rather than a debit card.  it does show as an open credit card if you were approved. verified

1-2 years ago, I had a HP for the credit line but did not receive any debit/credit card. The HP was from CCB/PPC but not synchrony.
