Sidewinder.. don't give up. I think it took almost 3 weeks before I finally received a response from Lisa.
I was almost ready to give up, but decided to try one more time, and I CC'd al.zezulinski@ncogroup.com (Executive Vice President of NCO). I don't know if that made a difference, but Lisa replied within a couple of hours.
Good luck!
I forgot to give an update... IT WORKED!!! Three weeks after I sent my DV letter to Mike Barrist I received a letter from Lisa Signore acknowledging receipt of my letter and letting me know that they were looking into it. A week later the account was deleted. They never sent a letter or an email saying that they were going to delete the account, they just did went ahead and did it.

Unlike what I've read so far in this thread, the amount of my acct is very high, $735, but I believe this is a bogus collection.I did have a acct with the OC a long time ago that ended up in collections but that amount was around $400. In 2005, it split into two collection accts. The one for $400 is no longer on my reports (the default happened around 2000/2001 so I'm thinking SOL - don't know exactly when it came off) but this one for $735 remains. It was assigned on 7/15/05 which really makes me think this is junk.I'll see what happens. If this gets deleted, I'll feel like I won the lottery.
