Hello again...Last week, I opted-out to receive offers of...

Hello again...Last week, I opted-out to receive offers of credit for 5 years using the CRA's hotline.  Seems like I've heard that doing this could add a couple of points to one's FICO scores.  Has anyone ever done this and checked to see if their scores went up?

Thanks, Mike

Opting out or in has no impact on your scores.

It can be a positive aspect of your credit if you ever have a manual review.

Thanks for the information.  Guess I was thinking the inability to apply for approved credit would be positively viewed by the CRA's and they might throw a couple points my way.  Wishful thinking.  In any case, good to know a creditor or bank reviewing my report would look favorable at this.  Will something show up on my reports clearly stating that I have opted-out?

Thanks, Mike

It is in there somewhere.  When I joined my Credit Union the loan officer pulled my CR (EQ) and noticed it.

But I can't tell you exactly where!!

And I am staying opted out.  I can learn more accurate info here on what CCs there are, what to look for, who they pull etc, and from here I can make informed decisions  Smiley Very Happy
