Help!!! CA reporting medical collection I don't recognize!

Oops, pressed return before I should have.

Anyhow - this collection is listed as having been assigned on 4/2006 to a CA here in AZ in the amount of $97. I have no idea where it is from, since I have HMO and dental coverage. I have written letters to the CA demanding that it be removed, and also to TU, the only agency reporting it, and the CA doesn't respond to me, but does DV with TU.

What do I do next? I have no clue what this is, and the CA doesn't have a valid phone number. As a result of this, my TU score is the lowest of all three bureaus, a 642, while EX is 682 and EQ is 665.

Your recommendations are appreciated!

NEVER talk to a CA..........send them a DV  CMRRR!  They have 30 days to answer it or stop reporting!

I agree with Happy but you should also dispute this collection with TU as not mine.

They never responded to my letter, which I sent about 2 months ago, but I did not send w/ receipt. Their phone number does NOT work, so I've never spoken to them.

I did dispute with TU as NOT MINE, but they are claiming the CA has my SS# and is a valid debt.

So I should send another letter w/ green card receipt? They only have a postal box.

I saw something on the boards last week about your rights and medical collections.

This does not belong to me or to my kids - we have HMO coverage and all payments go through our insurance company. Additionally, we have never visited any physician or clinic but our own, so this couldn't be mine.

I am thinking it may be my ex-husband's, who has been my ex for almost 8 years - he still lives in the same town, I moved, so I am thinking it may be one of his doc or dental bills that he didn't pay and a CA may have found something from our lives together and just decided to put it on my credit so I'd pay.

Thoughts? Any FCRA guidelines I should be citing?? My last letter to the CA went unanswered, so I am pretty sure this is illegally on my file.

send a DV  CMRRR     if they don't answer within 30 days  they would be in violation if they reported. If they do not answer....dispute with TU.........If it comes back verified send TU a MOV!
