This is what I am dealing with, I am looking to buy a home and want to know the quickest way to raise my scores. I am so confused as to what to do. I paid off all of my credit cards but I have late payments that are being reported. If I try to get the late payments removed how much will that help my score? Is it possible to get 60 day late payments removed? I also have 3 30 day late payments with HSBC do you think they would remove any? I am not sure what to do with my collection accounts. Any help would be appreciated.
NCO Last Active 6/01 Past due $2197.00 Balance $2197.00 Should I wait for this to just drop off my report? Does it go by last active date or date it is being reported, becase this one is being reported 3/08
Midland - Went to a judgment in Nov. 2007 but still not reporting judgment on report it is still showing Last active 12/07 Past due $1387.00 Balance $1387.00
Fingerhut Last active 1/02 Past due $819.00 $819.00 This is the original creditor for Midland
Commonwealth Financial Last Active 12/06 $379.00 past due $379.00 Shows collection 8/.02 Lifetime Career - Original Creditor for Commonwealth 12/01 last active Balance $379.00

Depends on severity of the lates, when they occured, and what else is on your report...really hard to guess.

Are the accounts still open? If so, you might have better luck. Only way to know for sure is to send GW letters.

Goes by DOFD(date of first deliquency)- does it say when it should be dropping? If DOLA 06/2001, I'd say it is due to drop soon.

Paying and then Gw'ing.....but Midland is difficult. Since they have already gotten judgment I wouldn't do anything but pay in full and not mention the judgment not reporting.

If this has been charged off and sold......I believe it should show a $0 balance. When does it say it should drop? Midland should drop at the same time. Appears like it would be next year. When it DOFD?

Commonwealth is a CA collecting for Lifetime Career? When does it say it should drop? Is only the CA showing? You may try a PFD if you are out of SOL. When is DOFD? If the OC still owns the debt and hasn't sold to the CA, you can ask them to withdraw from CA and accept payment.
Thanks for all of your help. I still have some questions. Where do I get a copy of a GW letter? How do I find out the DOFD on my accounts? If I call the colllection agency will that alert them to look at my account again. I have a report from a mortgage company so it does not tell me when any of my accounts are going to drop. The commonwealth account is the CA and the OC is Lifetime career, they are both showing. What is a PFD? If Fingerhut is charged off and should show a zero balance how do I get them to report correctly? Thanks
