I'm sure there's a reason you decided to garden. Whether it be inq's , new TLs or baddies ; the new cc you want will be there when you are ready.

I agree with Lexie. Set a goal and when you reach it you can app (if you still want to). Honestly, is there a good reason why you want a new card? Are you losing out on so much right now that you can't go without apping? That is how I try to think about it when I want to app. Honestly, when I want to app it is more to just have a new card than anything. That is how I talk myself out of it each time. It is not worth my AAoA taking a hit and another INQ to be on my report for 2 years.

Re: Help!! I need to stay in the garden!!

I really need to stay in the garden for about 2 or 3 years really! My AAoA right now is 2 years right now AND that's ONLY because I'm an AU on a 14 year old Chase account that has a limit if $22,000 CL, with perfect payment history. Otherwise, if it weren't for my AU account my AAoA would be 3 months, seriously! Here is what my profile looks like right now:

Cap 1 secured credit card - $1,000 CL (got in July 2013)

Cap 1 QuickSilver One -  $1,000 CL (got in Jan 2014)

Chase Freedom -  $3,500 CL (got in Feb 2014)

Walmart - $150 (got in Jan 2014)

Express - $250 (got in Jan 2014)

JCrew - $550 (got in Jan 2014)

Buckle - $250 (got in Jan 2014)

Chase Slate (AU) - $22,000 CL (14 years old)

In my wallet: AMEX BCE $18k | AMEX ED $19.5k | AMEX EDP $10k | AMEX BCEP $10k | HEFCU $10k | Discover it $8.8k | Capital One QS $9k | Chase Freedom $4.5k | Walmart $3,200 | JCrew $2,350 | Chase Slate (AU) $22k.

Re: Help!! I need to stay in the garden!!

I know I should grow those limits, but my justification for applying for the next and only other card I want is to apply and grow all of them at the same time and years down the road my AAoA doesn't take anymore hits. Lol. Is that good enough justification?? Lol

If you do not need another card for a specific reason, stay in the garden!!!  BUT, I predict your next thread will be telling us which card you got, lol.  I have seen this movie many times.  Smiley Tongue

I fell pray! I applied for the Amex BCE and was just approved. That's it! No more for me. Now, I will grow all of my cards and limits. I've got ALL the cards that I wanted already. I will garden for the next few years!!

Haha, I just saw that.  CONGRATS!!! That is a nice card.  I want the BCP, but that would be my next choice.  I am hoping this summer.
