I get my report from experian.com. I was looking at old reports and my score earlier this year was 696 showing 3 old negative accounts. My score dropped down to 655 proclaiming 6 negative accounts. But the time frame is still the same (4.2 years according to my report since the last negative)
I am so confused how this could be? Why would they add in three accounts all these years later?
Do you recognize the account? Are they yours? If so, where they ever on your reports in the past?
The easiest way is to just call them and ask. Perhaps the accounts were bought by another collection agency. Are the accounts within the SOL?
If they are within the SOL and they are your legitmate accounts it doesn't really matter, IMO, why they were not on before and why they are on now, they are yours and now you need to deal with them.
If you are interested in advice on what to do with them please provide additional info: original creditors, balances due, number of lates, DOFD, any interactions you may have had with tem that are relavent etc and the forum will help determine the next best step.
Sad to say they can be added at any time up until 7 yrs from DOFD
But I'm curious what you mean by 3 grew into 6...
Can you post a screen shot or something of it?
Has the debt been sold and now reporting by someone else?
Which would mean someone has to remove their reporting
Which a simple dispute could resolve but I need to see exactly what your talking about to be certain

Because they're, potentially, valid. As stated above, without details it's impossible to say though if you have the reports you should be able to investigate this.

This sticky in Smorgasboard is about adding card pics to a signature but the process is basically the same (aside from sizing the image) for attaching any image.
