Hi all, I have a question about my girlfriend's credit information. She is trying to to get her credit report, but all the credit companies (experian, trans union, equifax) are telling her she is giving them the wrong home address. She has given them all of the addresses she has lived at, but they do not match. It is most likely an error, but they are giving her a hard time and do not want to tell her anything. How can she go about fixing this?
She will have to do what they require, didn't they tell her how she can verify she is who she is? I would think that she can send them a copy of her photo identification with her current address on it, possibly some mail addressed to her or maybe a copy of her social security card. Have her call the bureaus and ask them what they need. If need be, tell her to request a supervisor.
If all else fails, file some complaints against the bureaus and/or consult with an attorney.
No, they didn't tell her anything. But she's going to call again and see if she can find out. I'll tell her to request a supervisor if she's getting no where. Hopefully it doesn't have to go further than that. Thanks for the response.

She has to straighten it out with each CRA and they will need to use another method of verifying her identitiy. She should also check that her address with all creditors is correct as that's how the CRA's obtain such information. The source of the incorrect information needs to be identified and addressed.
Equifax will tell you on the live chat what you need to prove your address. Mine was messed up. Just ask them they are very quickly and friendly on chat.
