Help with Credit Score!

I have one negative report on my account that has been closed and paid off in full for 3 years. I opened the account 7 years ago, the balance was only $500.00, i did exceed my balance by another $500.00, but this was at a time i knew nothing about credit cards. it's showing on all 3 credit reports. is there anyway possible I can get this removed from my credit score account? This is holding me back from getting to my goal of 800 credit score. my score now is 683TU 664EQ and 673EX, HELP!

This is a CC. right? Basically the "high balance" is showing at $1000 compared to a $500 CL?

Besides the high balance, does it show anything negative? CO? Lates?

Hi Roxi and welcome to the forums.

You should definitely write a goodwill letter to this company and ask that they remove it from your report. Sometimes it may take 2,3 or more letters, but it may pay off in the end. Do a search on here to get examples of goodwill letters so you know what to write. Explain to them what was your circumstance at that time but you have paid them off and you would really like if they can be compassionate in taking this off your report.

yes, it also shows 16 late payments, i don't recall it being that many but again i was young and didn't know how to document anything so i have no statements or paper work for this account.
