Help with contacting Experian

Hi, I know there are plenty of numbers posted for contacting each of the credit reporting agencies. I have found those easily enough. My issue is that I am deaf. I call places and people via internet relay serivce like Sprint Relay Online.com. I've been trying to reach Experian to discuss Early Exclusions for some items that are due to drop off my report in a couple of months. I have read plenty about each agency and the dates and time frame they will do this. I have 3 items two of which are within the 3 months that Experian supposeldy will consider this and the other is a bit outside of that. My issue is that when I try each of the numbers posted as contacts for Experian I am never able to reach anyone. The Sprint relay opeartors talk to the other party on the phone and then they type the message and it appears on my screen. I type back and they tell the other party what I am saying etc. Well, the operators can never get a live person on the phone. They get the long message about where to send my request, how to send it etc but they can never actualy speak to anyone. I have tried all of the numbers posted for Experian but none will work. At this point, I'm wondering if I should just try and do it via online dispute. I did that with Transunion and it worked. I know Equifax is not as accepting or the date of deletion needs to be within a month.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Help with contacting Experian

I would write them a letter asking for the early exlusions that you are after. You can request that way as well. Welcome to myFico Smiley Happy

Hi: I would try the online dispute process with Experian. I had no luck with calling them. They keep in touch via email as to how the your request is going and they get it done within 30 days, usually. You can also attach any documents via the online process that might help your case. good luck!

Disputing valid TLs isnt a practice that myFico supports, the dispute process is for the correction of erroneous information. The early exlcusion should only be requested via phone or US mail.

That's what I wound up doing. So, now I'll just wait and see what transpires. I did the same with Transunion after trying to deal with them via internet relay chat (a deaf person's mode of phone call). The woman with Transunion while nice, was rather adament that she could do not do an early exclusion. After the online process, all 3 were deleted within a couple of days. Fingers crossed on Experian. I understand MyFico's feelings about this and respect them. I can't say I agree with them 100% but if that's their feelings then it is what it is.
