My name is Ben and I am new to the FICO forums!! I have seen many success stories and it motivated me to get all my credit troubles behind me. I just spent 3K on past due collections I am hoping to be in the 600 range all across the board in January. Any support will be appreciated. Thanks everyone!!

If you paid an OC, and if these are CCs, then there might be some gains. If these were CAs, then you won't likely see an increase in scores. But on the flip-side, $3k in debt paydown is nothing to sneeze at. Congrats.

Thanks for the reply! I was talking to the CA over the phone and he said my score should jump in a few. However, I know everyone on this board knows their stuff. That is a bummer he sure got my hopes up!
Never ever talk to a CA. Never call a CA. And never trust a CA. Their word is never their bond. They will say anything to get you to pay.
However, if paid or settled, you could send a GW to ask them to remove it.
