I've got 1,000 in my pocket...suggestions to pay off util??????  The plan is to get NFCU to pay off the two chase, which were actually student debt put onto mc/visa.  Interest is high, but s/b able to get that transferred over Oct/Nov. (hopefully)

Re: Hope I used wisely....

If I have this right and everything else is goes through as planed is the question whether to use  1000 to pay down the Best Buy or the Walmart/HSBC combo.

If so then I would do the Walmart/HSBC combo.  My reason is that I did not see a score increase when I paid down my single reporting CC from 11% to 9% since total util was under 9%.  Your Best Buy has high util but it is my feeling the total util dominates single util and the Best Buy is at 0% so you would be saving money.  Also having a single CC reporting may help you on a MR or possibly with your TU score.

Anyway this is just IMHO.

I would pay the $455 Walmart to zero balance and put the remaining $545 on your #2 Chase card to get UTL below 50% on that one (plus your interest is high). Then I would pay down Best Buy to below 50% with the next windfall. Good luck with the NFCU/BT request in the Fall.

Re: Hope I used wisely....

Thanks Marty.  I'm not going to go for NFCU until I get util down.  That's killing the scores right now.
I believe I can pick off Chase by an additional 2k by then or pay off BestBuy.
