A couple of years ago, I went to University of Phoenix and did not do well in one of my classes. I end up oweing the school over $2500. Because of my lack of responsibility, I allowed it to go to collection. Once it went to collection, I set up a monthly plan of $150 to pay the bill off. I had the payment automatically taken out so that I would not mess a payment. After a year, the collection agency (without my knowledge) sent the bill back to the school and the school charge the account off. Now, it looks like I never sent them a payment and it's derogatory on my CR. When I spoke with someone they claim that the original set up with only for a year to pay it off; however, I don't have any written record of this. Each time I try to call to school to try to rectify this, I get the run around. Does anyone have any advice? I really want this thing off my credit.
