How can I improve my credit score?

Hi,

I have 3 credit cards that I use farily often (AmEx, MBNA Schwab Visa and Bank of America Mastercard) but none of them appear on my credit report.  The only things on my report are two closed AmEx cards (closed cuz I tired of the annual fees and switched to a no annual fee card), and one collection agency for medical bills that were late due to insurance company haggling.

How can I get the credit cards that I do have and use to appear in the report?

I am getting ready to apply for a merchant account for my own golf business and want to improve my score before I apply as I am currently ranked only 'fair'.

Thank you for your help.

Which report did you pull? You also used the word 'fair' to describe a credit score.

I would pull all three CRs from this site and use these scores as a basis for for future lending.

That's pretty weird that none of them show. Is the AmEx a traditional charge card (green, gold, plat), or one of the newer revolving credit cards (Blue this, that, and the other.) The charge cards are supposed to display in their own little section, I think. The Visa and MasterCard --are they Visa Signature and MasterCard World cards, by any chance, those with no pre-set limits? If so, these frequently have problems reporting, although Bank of America (which I assume administers the Schwab Visa) is a lot better than other banks at this.

The other possibility is that you have a discrepancy in your personal info between what the credit card companies have and what your credit reports have. Cross-check SSN's, spelling of name, address, and so on.

Re: How can I improve my credit score?

Check to make sure your address is correct on CR.
Make sure you name is correct.

Contact AMEX credit reporting- 800-874-2717  with a report directly from the CR in your hand.

AMEX should be able to figure out why theirs is not reporting and should fix why the other 2 are not.
