How can the same thing be reported to all bureaus and one gets things completely wrong??

I had a joint account with my ex, she had me removed from the account in September; the credit union made a mistake and never "techincally" reported it, according to them, so they fixed it and pushed out an update a few weeks ago, Equifax and TransUnion picked it up, the responsibility went from "Joint" to "Terminated" and marked the acccount with a $0 balance, credit utilization went down, scores went up, yay!!

Experian, well they went in an opposite direction apparently, instead of marking me as terminated and getting a $0 balance, my responsibility went from "Joint"  to "Individual", and updated the balance, which with my ex doing Christmas shopping went up $1200 ($6000 total balance now), WTH, so I guess they think I'm the sole owner of the account now?  Experian score dropped 30 points.  Which stinks because that was my highest score in general and especially for a mortgage score which also dropped like a rock, it would have kept my "middle" mortgage score about 25-35 points higher.

Now the Credit Union says they're going to contact Experian and get things worked out, but my landlord's giving me until January 1st to have an offer on the table for the house I rent before he puts it up for sale, at this point I'm doubtful it gets straightened out in time.  Never been so frustrated!

I would have the credit union give you a letter acknowledging what the account should show.

If you show it to your landlord, it should explain that a correction is coming, and that your credit report does not yet show that correction.
