How do I get Equifax to stop blocking authorized user accounts?

I have been successful in cleaning my credit reports, but now because of all my disputes Equifax and only Equifax has removed all of my AU, not only have they removed all Authorized User accounts, but they are blocking new ones. I spoke to Equifax disputes department and they told me I would have to tell the Creditors to report new account numbers because the old ones are blocked permanently. All of the AU accounts belong to my wife, so I had called the creditors and had new account numbers issued; the new AU accounts show up on Experian and Transunion but not Equifax, thats how I know they are blocking the new info.

Are the bureaus required by law to report AU accounts if they are your spouse?

How do I get them to stop blocking my Authorized user accounts?

Thanks in Advance.

The procedure of including accounts that are not yours in your credit file/report is purely a conconction of the system, and is neither permitted nor denied by statute.

Thus, there is no specific stutory basis for contesting reporting or lack of reporting of AU accounts per se.

However, the CRA reporting manual specifically provides for reporting of AU accounts, and they provide their own ECOA code to record them as such.

It's a long and well-established practice.

Refusal of a CRA to accept or include the reporting of an AU account would, in my opinion, be an arbirary and capricious act on there part, contrary to their own estalbished procedures.  As such, any refusal would probably be subject to civil action as contrary to their own publishe business procedure, and thus subjective discrimination.

Possibly also actionable as failure to meet their statutory requirement to accurately maintain consumer credit fiiles.

Didn't all of this come about because of fraud or something along those lines?

Yes, and every time I call in there would call in about an account that shouldn't be reporting they removed and AU account that should be reporting. This happened everytime I called in. I only have one AU account left and it is closed acount. I'm surprised they haven't removed it as well.

RobertEG,

Thanks for the info for the info. Seems like they are trying to punish me for my disputes. Hopefully this can be resolved amicably, but  at this rate looks like I may have to litigate.
