How do I lock my scores?

Hey, sorry if this is dumb. But how do I lock my credit scores? Just finished a big spree and want to secure them for awhile. Can I do I that via the myFico plans, or is there a 3rd party thing I should use?

Any help is useful, thanks!

Re: How do I lock my scores?

Are you talking about freezing your reports?

You cannot do it though MyFico subscription, you have to do it individually with all three CRA

Just so you are fully aware, you cannot lock your credit scores. You can freeze your credit reports using the links that were posted upthread, but freezing your reports will not prevent your score or report from changing. Freezing your report simply prevents lenders from accessing your reports with a hard pull, effectively preventing you from opening new accounts until you thaw (remove the credit freeze) your reports. Freezing and thawing credit reports is very simple now with the online tools that each bureau has implemented. I highly recommend everyone freeze their reports, it prevents you from spontaneously apping for a new credit product and provides a little extra protection from fraudulent applications.

When your reports are frozen lenders can still report new accounts, new account balances, payment history, etc. as normal. They can also still soft pull your reports if they are doing an account review or if you requested a CLI from a FI that allows for SP CLIs.
