How do I stop my credit scoring?

How do I stop my FICO score. I do not want a credit score and more importantly I do not want random massive companies that I have no affiliation with to have any of my information. I found the site to opt out of the "Consumer Credit Reporting Companies, Equifax, Experian, Innovis and TransUnion" selling my information to 3rd parties but nowhere do I see an option to opt out of the consumer credit reporting companies. Just to try to clarrify I am not trying to opt out of these companies selling my information I am trying to opt out of these companies having my information in the 1st place.

Sorry, by law you do not have that option.  You can however opt-out of your info being sold for preapproval purposes.  You can always stop using credit all together and let your file dry up.

Re: How do I stop my credit scoring?

Have you heard of "credit freeze".  This means that the institutions or the people who check your credit will not be able to do so including YOURSELF.  This means that even yourself could not open a credit without first informing the credit institution such as Experian and the others.  However if you want to open up a credit, you can do so be informing your credit institution in advance.  Depending on what state you are, there are certain regulations and days allowance averaging from 5-10 days after informing to open up a credit.  Credit Freeze is usually the best defense of people who have been a victim of identity theft.

Don't apply for credit.  Let it dry up.

Re: How do I stop my credit scoring?

Drastic measures to be sure but:

1. Do as others say. Do not use any credit. Cut up any/all credit cards you may have.
2. Opt out of all pre-approval mailings. There is an address you can write to. Let me know if you need it. I have a couple laying around here.
3. Put a credit freeze on your credit file with all 3 credit reporting agencies.
4. Pay off all credit cards, car loans, mortgages, etc and close all accounts.

In today's credit fueled world, just about every creditor in their terms & conditions state they have a right to and will share your information with related AND 3rd parties.

I wish you well.
