I've never been comfortable with autopay, and don't use it for credit cards. (I will use if for utilities whose amount is predictable.)
Since when are utilities predictable? Winter gas bill is high and electric is lower. Summer gas is a few dollars, and electric is through the roof.
In VA, our utilities are within a known range, not too extreme, and fortunately we have those funds on hand. A decade ago when we lived in a poorly insulated New England wood structure heated by electricity ... those bills were nasty.
My credit cards can have much wilder swings -- a vacation, home furnishings, a bicycle, car repairs ... . Sometimes I might take a month or three to pay in full.

I login to all my account online each week and make weekly payments if they have a balance. Likewise all my non-credit card accounts - internet, electricity, phone, etc. - get checked and paid weekly if I have a bill. For me it has absolutely nothing to do with credit limits, utilization, and credit score. I have great utilization and much higher limits than I could need, and I'm not interested in micromanaging my score. Handling all my finances weekly is simply the system I've used for the past 15+ years, and I'm very happy with it. It keeps my on track with saving and budgeting goals and I like to check all my accounts that often regardless to make sure there isn't any suspicious activity -- since I'm logged in anyway why wouldn't I make a payment? The miniscule interest I'd get on keeping an extra hundred or two hundred dollars for an extra 2-3 weeks just isn't worth worrying about.
I both push and pull payments on a regular basis. I prefer to login to each account separately and make payments as I go, so more often than not I'll have each account pull payments, but sometimes I'll be logged into a checking account and see that I have more money in that particular account than I anticipated, in which case I'll choose to have it send out payments instead.
I do have autopayment setup as a failsafe on most accounts as well, but I literally don't think I've ever actually used it since I always make payments, and usually multiple payments, well before the due dates.
I think i'm the only one who still cuts a check when receiving a statement.
ACH push and pull along with paper mailed in with some.
