How do you opt-in?

For the 3 CRAs, how do you opt-in for offers? URLs appreciated.

Re: How do you opt-in?

Unless you have previously opted-out, there is no need to opt-in.

If you have opted-out, all that is needed to opt back in is a letter of notification to the CRA rescinding the prior opt-out.

Thanks for the link. That's exactly what I needed.

RobertEG, I had previously opted out in an effort to reduce the amount of unsolicited mail in my mailbox. With my almost perfectly clean CR, I'm interested to see what I now qualify for.

How does one determine if you are currently opt-in or opt-out?

Re: How do you opt-in?

I had the same question as I don't recall if I ever did either. I clicked on the link and it gives you the option to do either. I've opted in for now. We'll see how it goes. I booked marked it should I want to change my mind later.

Re: How do you opt-in?

If you have a copy if your cr it will indicate if its blocked from promotional inquiries.  Also, if you have a FA or freeze you are automatically opted out

Re: How do you opt-in?

If you are unable to locate any information that is in your credit file from commericial credit reports you purchase, I suggest first going to annualcreditreport.com, and getting your free annual report from each CRA.  Those reports are more comprehensive than most commercial CRs, as they are the official gvt-santioned way for the CRAs to provide consumers their enttiled yearly CR.

If you cant find what you want in those reports, FCRA 609(a) provides a consumer the right to obtain any information in their credit file by sending a written request to the CRA, along with proof of identity and the required fee, which is currently $11.00.  Request your current opt-in/out status under section 604(e).

Re: How do you opt-in?

I pulled my report from annualcreditreport.com and see that their are "promotional inquiries". Does that mean I am currently opt-in?
