Re: How long does it take to realistically jump up 100-120 points?

I started really working on my credit about 3 months ago and my scores have risen  - about 40 points on TU and EQ, Devil not moving, actually decreasing [go figure], but I have learned that this is a slow proccess.  So, my best guess would be probably about 6 months to a year to see a 100-120 point difference, although some people have had amazing success very quickly.  Probably a YMMV situation.

For TU and EQ - I did it in less than 6 months.

For EX, I am guessing 7 years
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: How long does it take to realistically jump up 100-120 points?

I started 4 months and a week ago.  I don't remember the exact scores but they were barely above 600 and one just under 600.  I had one positive TL and one baddie that I disputed immediately due to reporting limits.  I got three new CC's in April.  Have charged and PIF on one and leave a very small balance on the others each month, alternating them.  I also had a loan on one report.  My scores are now 715/696/689.  I am a mere 15 points away from being a full fledged member of the 700 club!

I got a 13 point increase on one report today because Crown Jewelers increased my CL by $1000.

I have gotten 2 Collections deleted, 6 inquiries deleted, 1 Paid Collection and 1 paid Judgement but my 2 paids have yet to be updated. Have 2 GOOD accounts on TU that have not updated since March. Now I still have 1 collection and 1 CO on TU, I have 1 CO and 3 Collections on EQ and 1 CO and 2 Collections on EX to contend with. All combined I have 1 CO and 4 Collections left. My plan is to use Tuscani's PFD letter on 3 of the collections the other I'll dispute till the end of time, (It's not mine).
The CO I Don't know what to do with, reported by HSBC in 09/03 purchased by another lender but there is nothing on my Reports as to who has it. Anyway thats where Im at with my battle for Credit Repair.

Hey dekrist,

How did you get the inquiries deleted (or was it time for them to fall off)?

Re: How long does it take to realistically jump up 100-120 points?

Oh, I'm so glad I found this place!  I was wondering the same thing.

My scores are in the mid 5's and my husband's the low 5's.  We just learned two weeks ago that our landlord is putting the house on the market.  Thankfully, she was willing to wait 6 months while we work on raising our scores.

We talked to one hardship lender who said that we just need to pay our COs but I don't have any.  Both are closed but are both current.  She didn't mention the 100%+ Util at all or the CAs.

We don't have the $4000 it would take to pay down the high uts or the "COs" and we thought about getting a loan from the Cred. Union for funding.  Is this a bad idea?

As we're in need of raising our scores the highest in the least amount of time, I thought this the proper place to ask.  Hope everyone agrees.

Thanks!

Re: How long does it take to realistically jump up 100-120 points?

Hi Wendy, welcome. This is the right place. Just ask questions and people will answer. If you notice that people are looking at what you post & do not answere, It only means that they can not answer. just wait awhile & you will get one.

First  open a thread...in subject put something like   HELP just starting!!!!

what we need to know is every account that you have & the amounts.  post all CC CO and any thing else
Remember the dates mean something.    Take your time it can be very confusing.
EXAMP:
CC  cap1    CL  1500/1000  << what you owe

Have you read the threads??

You DO NOT need to remember everything on these threads!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT start a thread  so what you need it out there for everyone to see!

GOOD LUCK
