How long for a collection account to clear a CRA?

I have a collection account on my Transunion report, I sent the CA info that I had already paid the account so they sent a letter to TU to have it removed, does anyone have an idea how long that will take? Also before they sent the letter I had disputed it with TU, would that change the removal process at all?

Generally it can take 30-45 days for a CA to remove itself, because many CAs only update once per month. The dispute could possibly slow things down if the CA hadn't updated its own records yet, otherwise it would be removed within 30 days if they did.

Thanks, another question, I was planning to send in my proof of payment documents to TU to have them attached to my dispute, so I was wondering if I don't send in those docs and the dispute doesn't work for whatever reason, can I then dispute it again and send proof of payment, or do I only get one shot at it?

If the CA said, after receiving verification of payment, that they would remove the TL from your CRs I would give them 30 days to follow through. Further dispute activity with TU could just confuse and slow things down further.

Doing that would extend the dispute by 15 days (per the FCRA).

If your goal is to get this cleared up as fast as possible, then do nothing and let the CA delete on its own w/out any dispute.

Thanks, yeah I thought as much, I guess I am just being impatiant, I just hate sitting and waiting for it to removed while my TU is 50 points lower because of it and at any time one of my CCC could do a soft pull and decide my account with them needs "adjustment"
