Just wondering - How often does everyone here check their credit score?
I'm not seeking any new credit, but eventually want to get a mortgage (in about a year) and I want to get my credit score above the top tier so I get the best interest rate.
I normally check 2-3 times a week. For the past week I have check almost daily hoping my Orchard visa has updated. I'm planning on refinancing my auto loan after all accounts have updated for the month. I made large payments on my Macy's and Orchard so it would be nice to that (Orchard) show on my cr.
for those of you pulling scores 3 times or more a month, does that mean you're spending over $50 a month on scores?? Even just pulling 1 score 3 times a month is around $36 I thought...that just seems like a bunch to spend.
I personally pull about twice a year...and Tiana, I pulled once in Feb and once in May before my mortgage - the biggest thing is pull within two months so you can fix any issues before your lender pulls (we pulled two weeks before the lender and didn't have time to fix the issues).

DW and I are looking to buy our first home real soon. IMO, the best way to understand FICO scoring is to pull frequently. We can say that if we pay $x or $y, we can accurately predict our FICO score change. Once we buy our home, then we'll ween off to about once a quarter. Price isn't that bad. It's $10.95 for our EQ FICO reports (we both have SW and get EQ at a reduction) and use 20% or 30% off coupons for TU.

I'm pulling often to gauge the changes that are taking place as I rebuild. I am able to see what change have taken place via TC website, then, I pull myFICO scores to understand the point change. Now that I have taken care of any derogs that I've had....I pull less often. However, since I'm still a few points shy of qualifying for my VA Loan...I'm still checking x2 a month.
As the poster mentioned above, I'm not paying full price either....getting them at a discount.

I pull my reports several times a week through CCT. I pull my FICOs if I notice anything has changed or if ScoreWatch alerts me of a change.
