How often is this type of CR used?

Anyone have knowledge of this product called  (Multi-Bureau Access)  offered by Equifax?

This is a credit pull that  includes all three reports in one pull.

Is this used for Mortgages or credit apps. and does it count as one pull?

If you have knowledge, please share.

Thanks, veracious

Re: How often is this type of CR used?

I have never heard of them.  But I would imagine it is along the same lines as a Tri-Merge report some lenders use.

Thanks for the reply  guiness56

Would you or anyone know about this type of report?

If this type of report is used, when app'ing for a CC,

your CC issuer gets to see all 3 CRA reports  when we think theyare only pulling Equifax????

Perfectly legal of course, but it seems rather sneaky. Smiley Surprised

Re: How often is this type of CR used?

I doubt it is used by a CCC.  They sometimes only use one CRA, not all three.

I think this would be for a auto loan or a mortgage.

I don't think there is anything sneaky about it.  It gives the lenders the ability to see all three reports using one pull, not three.

Re: How often is this type of CR used?

Thanks again,     guiness56.

Just one more obvious question, well, maybe a couple.

If a person has two of their reports frozen would a tri-merge or Multi-Bureau Access report

defeat their purpose?

And question #2. Do CCC's have the time to fish around to find the report you want them to see?

Since  you have to be given a reason for denial do CC's  ever deny you  for having your credit files locked?

Thanks for any replies.

Tri Merge would probably not work if you have frozen reports.  This would be if you applied for new credit.

Most CCC have a specific CRA they use all the time.  So what ever is on that report is what goes.

Yes, I have been denied credit due to my report being frozen.  They have to verify your identity and they could not reach me.

Re: How often is this type of CR used?

Guiness,   if I read your post correctly;  you were saying,    if a CCC asks you to unlock the report

you didn't want them to use, you can simply not comply (by not being available) ..........

and the end result would be the benefit of no inquiry being reported.

Is there anyway such a strategy could backfire?

No, that is not what I intended to imply.  I was stating that I had all my reports frozen and when I applied for a CC they were unable to get the report because they could not get in touch with me for verification.

Ok, thanks guiness56.

Please understand that I wrote that particular post in the way that  i perceive  another person's statement.

No harm was intended.  You have helped me quite a bit with my credit education.  I always appreciate your
