How should I dispute this?

It's an old pager bill in collections on my report, from metrocall. So for S & G's I look up metrocall and found out they had filied for bankruptcy and was took over by a company called usamobility. The ca that has the acct is called COMPUTER CREDIT SERVICE CO. Which type of letter would you send to validate debt? Or would you try to call to see if usamobility even have you in there system? What would you do?

What is the date of the last payment you sent/account closed? You may be able to use the SOL defense.

Re: How should I dispute this?

Here is a link for SOL by state.

I'm not positive, but I assume pagers fall under either utility or revolving. Can someone verify this?
If you find that it is past the SOL, send them a letter telling them that, and that if they decide to sue you, you will tell the court that this is a time barred debt.
Be sure before you do this though. If it is still within the SOL, you should send them a PFD settlement offer.
Good luck! Smiley Happy
