Re: How to avoid Conn's furniture interest

Conns is a BIG CON! While they prey on you to get over-priced furniture and electronics from them at long terms and high rates.

I started working with them back in 2014. Bought a few items, TV, desk, etc. about $2300.00 worth of items.

Once you pay down the debt to a certain point, they start to send out personalized spam letters saying your credit line with them has increased.
No...it hasn't increased. It's called opening an additional credit account with them, and so on. So you can have all of these separate accounts/credit lines opened under Conns. Probably unlimited credit accounts from what I read online. A customer complained and stated she has 11 active accounts with them.

They won't place any HPs on your report at all to get the additional accts, either. They have a back-office that saves your information from the 1st time you ever applied. They HP you on that 1st application.

You go into the store, meet a floor sales rep, show them your approval letter or whatever, talk to that back-office on the phone, confirm your info and maybe even fax them a copy of your pay stubs and license..and that's it...you're in!

For the "increased line"...you know the, 2nd account, I was told I could buy up to $7500 worth of products...LOL

The Sales guys in the store will try to pimp you to  max that amount out. But you have to stay head-strong and resist! I'm in sales, so I know how to play them and make them think I'm intrested and then lower the: nah, that's ok! I don't want all of that.

They'll keep sending letters for increased lines over and over and wont stop. I have wrtiten complaint letters to state that I want them to remove me from their marketing lists. They won't do it. When you're a minute past mdnight late, they call 15x that day.

For anything you buy, you'll need to either have your own home insurance policy or purchase their mandatory insurance. No if ands or butts about it. You also will be counseled on repair contracts and all of these additional add-ons. Trust me, you'll probably need them all.

I wound up with 2 active credit accounts with Conns. They report on your credit report with all 3 CRAs..
The bastards reported me late one month. Whle I had a dispute open to merge both of the accounts and receive 1 billing statement. They never did it.

I hate those POS! i really hope something bad happens to them.

I wound up paying the 1st account off, to the tune of about $950.00, that was left. I was pretty happy about it and told the phone rep that I hated them and their company and was glad to get 1/2 out of my life.

The 2nd account, I'm still working on it... have about $1k left out of about $3200. I can't wait to pay off the 2nd and get these bums out of my life!

As God as my witness, I  will NEVER do business with Conns again. You can sooo be sure of that! Oh I can't wait.

The only nice part of that place are the delivery guys, They bring everything in and set it all up just the way you want it. Conns makes sure that you give them all 5's. They pimp you in the store  (sales rep, assistant and the sales manager) and they call you multiple times to make sure you're going to give them a 5 on the survey. They flat out tell you, 5 is the only way to go. Anything else will not be accepted.

I recommend people NEVER EVER do business with these crooks! You will regret every minute of it.

I agree with all of that. That is why I desire to transfer their balance to another source with less interest
