How to handle improper lien affectting my FICO Scores

I had a sales tax account in the State of Indiana under my social security number which I forgot to file reports showing zero sales and sales taxes in August of 2008. This resulted in a tax lien being issued against me by a court in Indiana for $6,000. I handled this by filing the required zero sales report and the tax lien was satisfied. It still shows on my personal credit however and has dropped my scores by 60-70 points. Does anyone know how I can get this removed?

You should contact the state to see about getting the lien withdrawn or vacated.  Just having it released doesn't end the credit reporting, which can occur for 7 years after the lien is released.

I live in Indiana and have had issues with State Tax Liens also. These were paid taxes that were posted as a lien and one said unpaid even after I received a refund! Keep contacting them, eventually they will get it fixed.
