How to increase scores?

Hello All.  This is my first post as I just recently found this forum.  My wife and I are planning on purchasing our first home within one or two years so in preparation, I decided to pull my credit report/score.  I have never been late on a payment, I never carry a balance, and I have never had any type of loan.  I have about 12 open credit card accounts with zero balances on each one.  My credit scores are in the 790s and I was just wondering what I could possibly do to get my scores above 800?  At this range, does it even matter?

Is there anything I can do to increase my credit scores above 800?  thank you

A) You Don't need to - they are plenty high enough

B) If you are buying jointly, then it would be a good idea to check BOTH your scores

The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: How to increase scores?

Actually, once you pass 760 or so, hgiher scores have little if any effect on the availability and terms of credit.  So my advice is to just keep doing whatever you've been doing, and for goodness' sake don't be late on anything.

Re: How to increase scores?

Thank you to everybody for your quick responses.  You confirmed my initial thoughts.  As for my wife, turns out, her scores are higher than mine (probably because she has a car loan that has since been paid off).

I have one more question.  There are some minor errors on my credit reports regarding employer info (i.e., not showing any employer data).  As I mentioned, I am looking to purchase my first home within a year or two and I want the loan process to proceed as smooth as possible.  Is it worth updating this information in my credit reports?

Re: How to increase scores?

Leave it alone-

Your broker/bank will verify that stuff and it has no affect on your scores.
