How to know which credit report was pulled?

The credit monitoring service lets me know who pulled a credit report and from which bureau, but it doesnt say which report type (eg FICO 5, FICO 8, etc.). Is there any way to know this?

Re: How to know which credit report was pulled?

You'd have to contact the lender that pulled your report and ask.  You're not asking which report was pulled, as that can only be one of three bureaus (EX, TU or EQ).  What you are asking here is which scoring model they used with the information from whatever report they pulled to generate a credit score.  Call them up and ask.  A lot of front line CSRs are oblivious that different scoring models even exist, so if you get one of those you may have to be transferred to a supervisor, the credit department, etc.

Some of my approval (or in some cases denial) letters state what was pulled for their decision.

Yup, that's standard for many lenders.  For those that don't, usually you can find out with a simple phone call.  I always think it's a best practice to find out before apping for a product which scoring model that lender will use.  That way you can check your own score for that scoring model and know exactly where you stand.
