How to remove inquiries from Transunion?

I was unfortunately pulled credit 2 times unnecessarily for one app. Bank states they can't remove it. Tried transunion dispute system online but it does not allow you to dispute inquiries. How do you go about this? THanks

Re: How to remove inquiries from Transunion?

Hey Superduper, I also filed a dispute with Transunion in the past. I learned through my MyFico forums that the credit agencies aren't the problem, it's who you're indebted to. Contact them and work it out if you can, but document everything...Who you talked to, the incident number or whatever you call it, date and any other pertinent info.I re-read your post and you mentioned BANK? More info would help.

It was US bank. They said they don't remove inquiries. Go figure. They did 2 for the same app.

Is it possible it was One from the Bank and One for whatever you were wanting to do!?    I may have this completely wrong in this case but I know with my HD card it was one pull for HD and one pull from the Bank they use so I got two pulls for the one card?!

Same thing happened to me with Loan Depot. If it were a case of identity fraud, TransUnion said I could write a letter to them and they would remove it. However if it wasn't a cause of fraud, it would be up to the creditor to initiate the process to remove it. So Loan Depot sent a letter on company letterhead and faxed it to TransUnion to have them remove it. Within 30 days the inquiry was removed. It was quite an extensive process though.

Re: How to remove inquiries from Transunion?

To add and clarify my initial post.

US bank pulled 2 times for the same recon. I was expecting only 1 hard pull from this.

So, first they pulled for the card application, then they pulled 2 more times for a recon I requested.

I ended up with 3 hard pulls.

In any case, I am glad the thread got reopened after some clarification. Thank you @Remedios

Re: How to remove inquiries from Transunion?

Write them a letter, include screenshot, and ask them to recode  second pull as a SP.

Your letter should state date of application, followed by screen shot of that HP.

Then you need to address it was sent back to UW, at which time, it resulted in two pulls for a single request. Use second screenshot for that.

If that doesnt result in correction, your only option is CFPB complaint, because you cannot dispute them directly with CRA unless they were made fraudulently.

I wouldn't burn bridges over a single pull, though.

If you by any chance bank with them, go to the branch (bigger the better), and ask banker to help you with reaching someone who could fix this.
