Paid Account reported to bureaus as unpaid 3 months later

Hey all, thanks in advance for any help or insight.

I had Amsher call me in March of 2020 regarding an $85 bill for unreturned cable equipment.

So I emailed Amsher a picture of the receipt from the return of the equipment right away.

Well, just this week they sent the account to collections anyway and bombed my scores upwards of 100 points.

I contacted Amsher and they have no record of me by name, phone number, OR social security number. They can't tell me anything.

Feels so unfair to me because I've been working hard on my credit since November and have been doing great. From mid 500's to 625/625/630, thanks to everyone here.

Now I'm back to where I started.

file a complaint with the BBB on them and any CA that may report for shoddy business practices. If this fails then file a CFPB complaint on them.

Did you receive the Dunning notice? Did you request debt validation?
