How will this change my credit score, if at all?

Right now two of my CCs are handled my a CCCS. I am paying them of much faster than I had thought and for some other reasons I would like to stop using them. If I cancel with them will it change my credit score?

Thanks,

Ashley

Re: How will this change my credit score, if at all?

Your score could drop if these two cancelled cards helped your utilization. In other words, if you are carrying balances month to month on your other CCs, your util will go up and scores down.

Your score could also drop if closing them reduces your mix of credit. Make sure you have at least a couple other CCs open after closing these two.

Do not cancel the cards if there's a balance on them.

Now if there is a temptation to use the cards, and closing them helps you, then sometimes that trumps a FICO score.

I think you misunderstood. The accounts are already closed. I just want to know what effect it would have to stop using the CCCS and pay on my own. I would assume none but you never know.

Ah...I see. I saw "cancel with them" as being cancelling the CCs. My bad.

No difference, IMO.
