Huge credit score drop

So I am still fairly new to monitoring, but more importantly understanding the ins and outs of scoring. I wasa  victim of identity theft, and my scores took a hit. Most of the baddies have fallen off, and my score has been rising over the last few months, even if its just a few points here and there.

3 Weeks ago I PIF a collection from Amex. I also PIF a credit card I had a small balance on (800)- this week my score dropped 78 points on credit karma with Transunion and Equifax. I pay for experian and I have not seen a change in that yet.

Info to know on my credit report- 2 car loans, one still open but will update to paid off next cycle, other about 36 months left, 8 late payments over last 2 years.

Credit cards- 1 Citi card, 2k limit, currently 0 balance

AU Amex, 10K, 20-30% util

2 collections I am currently disputing, one for 233, the other 1700

Average age of credit- 4 years

DTI- 10% accoring to experian

Exp: 550

Transunion: 470

Equifax: 531

PS- if anyone wants to message me how to put my scores/ open card in bio that would be very helpful

Re: Huge credit score drop

As stated here a zillion times you can not go by credit karma scores !!

You need to check your actual FICO scores .

As others stated vantage scores (credit karma) are not the same as FICO scores. Vantage scores are known for wild swings so I would not be worried unless you see large changes in Experian monitoring.

If a person is new to MyFICO forum, he/she wouldn't know this.  Just my opinion.  😉

Re: Huge credit score drop

Others have said, check your actual Fico Scores and I agree.

Pony up the $59 and pay for a 3 score check here and see what they really are, *IF* you must really know. Otherwise, you can just save your $59. Smiley Happy
