I PTD but they're not deleting

I kept my end of the bargain. I sent a PTD letter (Thunderbird Collection), they responded in writing, I paid as agreed. Now they are past their agreed time to delete off the CR. What am I supposed to do?

This ticks me off...

Re: I PTD but they're not deleting

If you did a PFD you should have something in writing that says this.

I would say first call them, because most of the time they give you that 30-60 crap, to check and see when will they delete. Keep requesting to be transferred until someone give you the answer.

Second, if the first doesn't work, send the documents to the CRA's and they will open a dispute.

Keep in mind that companies normally only report once a month and CRAs can take their time updating.

When was it supposed to be deleted by? Call them and speak with a supervisor and see if it has been marked to be deleted.

Re: I PTD but they're not deleting

You have to check the language of the letter they sent back, because, not to put too fine a point on it, most CAs are weasels.

You have to be sure they actually promise to DELETE the account, not just "update your credit report" or "indicate to the CRAs that the debt has been paid." Subtle differences in language are what keep the lawyers busy and screw people like you and I.

True-- and make sure they agree to delete from your CR, not delete your information/file from THEIR system.
