I recently took on the task of trying to raise my scores. I sent my first round of dispute letters about 2 months ago. All I got was the " we verified the account" response. I decided not to settle for those, and went on the offensive. I sent out 2 more large packets of dispute letters 9 and copies of the laws highlighted ) on the same accounts within a month. I just got back the response from EQ~ They removed 2 collections, and 9 inquires! I used the FCRA guidelines to my advantage. I let them know that I knew the rules. They have to dispute every item, every time you ask them to. And, they have to provide me with the copies of what I asked for. Before, I guess they would just call or write and ask if the account was mine. No sir! I wanted signed contracts proving the accounts were mine, and the 60 day letter of intent to report. When they couldn't come up with it, I won. I wil now pursue the rest of them in the same manner. Will my score go up now that those "hard" inquiries and collections were removed? Anyone know how long that takes to see an adjustment on my score? Thanks!
