I disputed something on my report, and myfico sent me an alert today that says it's been "updated". It doesn't clarify if it's been removed or not. It's just showing it's been updated. Anybody familiar with this situation? Any help is appreciated. Also...I have a collection for $60 medical bill that belonged to my wife back in 98. They just reported it in 2004. Should I get a PFD for that & dispute it, or just dispute it? I know her credit is my credit, so I'm basically stuck huh? Help please?

On the $60 collection, dispute it with the CRA as "not yours" and "too old to report".

Updated does not mean removed. You will have to pull a new report to see what changed.

If you don't want to pull another report just wait until the credit bureau sends you the results. I did and online dispute and also got a message that something was updated. When I checked my regular e-mail equifax had actully e-mailed me the reults in my report so I didn't have to pull another one. But since I subscribe to TC now I guess I get to see it everyday anyway.

Do you know your EX report number? You can actually get an updated report from EX for free if you do:

It was an alert for a collection by Verizon I disputed. It's showing "date reported 5/2/2007" Why are they still reporting that? Because I disputed it? It's been paid for like 2 years. I did pay it AFTER it was in collections. That was before I found this site. Sheesh.

I could be wrong but if you log into your account it will have a before and after change.(with the change highlighted) I also got the same alert. After checking, it was just showing the account was in dispute.

I pull TU and EX online, but request a paper copy of EQ. EQ is "online challenged" IME.
