I closed my SavorOne, BBVA Clearpoints, and my US Bank Cash+. Yes, I know those were quite recent acquisitions for me, but like I said, I’m not going to worry about the small stuff.
Now my card catalogue consists of my Disco, my Amex, and my Citi DC. My so-desired 3 card life has been achieved.
Maybe I did it just to prove Saeren wrong lol but I seriously feel pretty relieved and happy about this.
And no, I’m not planning on replacing those closed cards. I really wanted to have only 3, and it’s not worth the headache to have more. Even the upcoming Apple Card will not grace my wallet. I really want to grow my DC, so no new accounts for me.
I want to know how many people's hearts are going to skip a beat when they saw you closed your Cash+
CONGRATS on your personal success/milestone!!!Wow, I had no idea the Cash+ meant so much to people lol Is it just because of my crazy approval story? Or is there some unwritten rule about shunning US Bank....am I going to wake up with a shredded credit card in my bed.....
It’s like THE goal card for many people here. There aren’t many options for cash back from utilities and you just dropped the two best ones!
As long as you’re happy, that’s all that counts. You have more cajones than me apparently because I can’t even bring myself to get rid of my SSFCU card.
I want to hit that $100K in TLs. Just cause. 🤷♂️
It would be amazing if we could transfer credit cards. Call up US Bank and vouch for you to take my card and limit lol.

😂
Part of the fun for me is the thrill of the chase. I will get my own Cash+. It may not happen right away but I will get it eventually. BBVA has 0% until January so if I don’t get approved this summer, maybe I’ll behave and stay in the garden until February of next year when it’s been a year since my last app.
...
We both know that’s not realistic but I can try. 😂

A full year. That’s restraint lol. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get denied/approved for it like I did 😂😂
We will see what happens. I’m honestly getting to the point that I am finally happy with what I have. The Cash+ would be nice but it’s only an extra $48 a year. I can save that by cutting $4 a month from my food budget if I really want it.
But I don’t have a VISA Signature and I burned US Bank so personal goals and all.

You have to make these cards work for you, and if they aren’t working for you, CUT THEM.
I think a lot of people, including myself, on this forum are in the beginning or the middle of their credit journey of where they want to be. It’s jarring to a lot of us as we could never considering cutting some off.
Essentially, for most of us, this is a kind of a game. Get your character to the highest level. Once you are at the highest level, you don’t need that sword or shield that you got in the first hour of the game, but it got you to where you are now.
An apt metaphor lol I like it! I see you’re also a 3-carder too, assuming your sig is right

I’m the guy who keeps the equipment he started with unless selling it is absolutely necessary to purchase stronger equipment or my inventory gets full.
I think my problem is that it’s just too much work to make the calls and close accounts. 🤷♂️

I am at three now but I want just a couple more right now. My CLs aren’t enough to buy a new Honda Civic like yours, so I still got some growing to do. Once I get my disco to 17.2k like yours, then I would consider doing the same as you
Or a new Kia Rio. My car of choice.
pinkandgrey ... congrats! Also, you may experience card withdrawal so resist the temptation as you kicked some good cards to the side. Again, nice work and now you can help me loose some more cards. Cut eight cards a couple of years ago and lost some credit limits but, it got to be too much and I do not have the spend or need!
