I had my identity stolen over 3 years ago, but never followed through - What can I do now?

Hi Everyone,

I have a question which I am not able to find a specifiec answer on for my particular situation. I had identity theft between 2019-2020. It included my taxes and multiple credit accounts, multiple bank accounts opened in my name etc. I filed a police report, FBI report, as well as tax affidavid's, multiple FTC reports for each sccount etc. I didnt follow through on the accounts on my credit file which are all now charge off's because I was young and dumb figuring it would work itself out.

Having all the appropriate documents, is there anything I can do with them now? Some accounts which were mine and had unauthorized transactions on, now I don't know what was me and what wasnt me. Can I do anything about this now? Please help. I can't find the correct anseer for my situation anywhere. Thank you in advance.

Start with running your credit reports.

I did an entire MyFico 3 bureau report and those are in there as mine. However the police reports and fbi reports both say those were not my responsibility. I know I'm an idiot for not doing it 3 years ago. I'm new to credit rebuilding and I was not responsible.  I am doing a program which is very legit and they ran my reports and told me the steps to take. It was only $40 a month and I'd recommend them to anyone. My Equifax jumped over 122 points yesterday. The others also jumped a solid 45 points each so I'm at around 660 now. I'm a work in progress.

Hi,

Do you me asking what program you are using? I'm using a program that is charging me $90 a month and I have not made any progress with them (cancelling them today). Found out that they were a part of another company that was a credit restoration scam from a few years ago.

Thank you.

There is no credit repair company, or guru anywhere that can do anything for you, or for your credit that you can't do for yourself....for free, period.

Everything you could possibly want to know can be found on this forum.

Seinor contributer? Who doiesnt know there are very real, licenced, reputable and afforable ways to fix errors on your credit report? Then how have my scores jumped on Equifax over 70 poihnts, Transunion 35 point increase and Experian - 29 point increase with one dispute letter to each bureau. Maybe you need to look at the site yourself and see how many 5+ stars this company has. Yes there are so many scams out there. This is not one at all. I would bet my life on it. If it is face and your statement of "there is no credit repair company, or guru anywhere that can do anything for you, or for your credit that you can't do for yourself....for free, period." YOU ARE WRONG. Sorry to tell you the truth.

I stand by what I said as it is fact... I openly challenge anyone in this community to prove to me that there is even one single thing that a credit repair company, reputable or not can do for someone that they can't do for themselves.

They don't have any special powers, or inside connections, or any other knowledge that can't be found here.

If someone wants to pay for credit repair thats all fine and good, that's on them but absolutely, positively unnecessary to get the very same results
