Yes I co-signed for someone!!!! I know I know... baby sister was in a bad spot and needed emergency dental work so I co-signed a Care Credit card with her, and yes I am paying for it via drop in credit score because she has paid 2 months late
With that aside, in checking my credit reports, her addresses are showing up on my reports! Her last 2 addresses since the co-signing incident. I have disputed these addresses but my question is...why? She says she does not know why, that when applying for these residences she only used her information. Is my name automatically joined with hers whenever she applies for anything now?
What do I do?
Don't sweat the addresses for now; likely the lender will keep reporting them (at least the current one)... and more importantly, no your name won't be automagically joined with your sister's, it's just the application(s) you cosign for.
Basically the co-signed had her primary, but since it reports to you too, your sister's address is what got posted... and if you whack it via dispute, they'll just re-report next month. It's basically meaningless to scoring and any lender worth a darn seeing that will know what's up, and if they don't, simply explain just as you did here.
If the account gets closed at some point in the future you can whack the address via dispute and it'll stay off since it won't be reporting anymore, but I wouldn't worry about it in the mean time... the lates though, ouch . No good deed goes unpunished sometimes.

It's not a sin. You just may not care for the outcome as you've found out the hard way.

No, as stated above, it's just reported by that creditor. Disputing won't help as long as the creditor continues to report it but no need to sweat it as it doesn't really have any impact.
