On 12/21/07 I recive a letter from Mercantile Adjustment Bureau saying I owe $1300 and with an account #. It has current creditor as : Resurgent Capital Services & Prev creditor as LVNV Funding.

So I sent a DV letter to them which they signed for on 1/7/2008 and got no response back from them.

Then on 1/28/2008 I get a letter from ProLine SOlutions with the same account # as above saying I owe $2210 and has the original creditor as Lowes Consumer & current creditor as LVNV Funding

So I sent them a DV letter which they signed for on 2/11/2008 and I got no response back from them yet.

SO THEN yesterday I get a letter from Hood & Stacy Attorneys at law saying they have been retained by LVNV Funding to collect this debt of $2233.28 and if they don't hear back from me by May 4, 2008 they will file a lawsuit.

So my question is what do I do? I know the SOL is not up on this but I have gotten no response from the DV letters from 2 different collectors. I do not want a lawsuit but need help with my next steps!

Who was the OC    and what was the DOFD/DOLA?  what is your SOL?

DV the lawyer and include a copy of the DVs you sent LNVN and Pro Line with a copy of the green card (I hope you got).

Is lowes still reporting? If so  is 1/2007 the last time that you made a payment?  Are you sure that you are within SOL?

If Lowes still owns the account....IF you can pay $1300    try a PFD only with lowes.

Lowes is still reporting and showing as purchased by another lender. 1/2007 last paid and is showing a 0 balance

LVNV Funding is reporting on my report as a collection account and date opened as 11/2007

I think SOL is 5 years in Oklahoma

SO again what angle should I approach?
