INQUIRY

I have an inquiry on my credit from WF Finance, but not sure why. I'm sure it's from an auto loan application I'd put through at some point. Can you contact a company and ask why they ran your credit? Ironically, I had an auto loan with WFS (don't know if it's the same company) years ago, and was thinking about trying to apply with them again (that car was paid off and has "ok" across the board on all my credit reports) I want to start by finding out if they are the company that inquired. Is that ok? Thanks Smiley Wink

Re: INQUIRY

Have you opened or applied for any retail cc?  They own a big share of that market.

Re: INQUIRY

No credit cards and the only other 2 things I applied for were through Wells Fargo Bank (maybe that is them) and my bank City National.  I believe the good car loan I had, WFS, is Wachovia.  That's who I'm planning to try applying with for a car loan. Thanks for the reply.

Re: INQUIRY

You may want to call the CRA and tell them you do not recognize the company that did an inquiry and could they tell you who it is.

Re: INQUIRY

I am pretty sure WF Financial is a consumer finance loan (sub-prime) underwritten by Wells Fargo Financial.
