Identify Theft -Rental Application (Help!)

Hello,

Over the past couple months I have had several fraudulent accounts pop up on my credit report. I of course successfully disputed all of them. I placed a security freeze and fraud alert but it hasn’t stopped the few that have gotten through. Specifically, I have had 3 Fraudulent rental screening inquiries in the state of FL For apartment communities. I live in Georgia....two of the screening were completed by Transunion’s rental screening Dept. But they have told me there is nothing I can do to stop these screeningS except call and dispute every time because there’s a credit access exemption for rentals. Nevertheless I am HIGHLY UPSET & frustrated with Transunion. I filed a CFPB complaint. But is there anything else I can do? It’s exhausting having to dispute something almost every week the past couple weeks.

A credit freeze doesn’t permanently prevent you (or others in your case) from opening a new account or doing other things like applying for a job or renting a home.  Look at the leasing companies that did the pulls and call them ASAP.

Yeah I’ve done that but it’s exhausting at this point to keep calling & emailing every time this happens.
